Spartan Spotlight: Merrill Robinson

New to Athens Academy this year, Merrill Robinson teaches Middle School Latin and coaches the Swimming & Diving team. Coach Robinson grew up in Sandy Springs and graduated from UGA. We asked her five questions as part of the Spartan Spotlight:

What do consider to be unique about Athens Academy?
The supportive atmosphere working with other teachers, and the commitment teachers have to their students' success.

What are your hobbies?
My number one hobby right now is cooking. I love to try new foods, and cooking is a creative process, almost like art. Plus, you get to eat your creation!

If you could take a trip anywhere in the world, where would you go?
At the top of my list of places to visit is the UK. The countryside is beautiful, and I would love the chance to explore the Roman ruins in Britain.

What school subject did you like the most? Which did you like the least?
My favorite subjects in school were History and Spanish (I didn't take Latin until college), and my least favorite was Math (although I enjoyed my Calculus class, and I had a great teacher for it).

What was your first job?
My first job was at Workbench ACE Hardware, a local hardware store in Dunwoody, Georgia. I worked as a cashier there for three years during high school.

Thank you, Coach Robinson!
