Welcome to Athens Academy!  This is an exciting time for our school.  We celebrated our 50th year in 2016-17, and the future is certainly bright as we embark on our next 50 years!
Athens Academy is a wonderful community of teachers, students, parents, mentors, alumni, coaches, and friends all dedicated to educating young people.  We are guided by our mission statement: "Athens Academy seeks excellence with honor in the educational and personal experience of each student." These fifteen words make it clear where we focus our energy. Our primary objective is to engage our students in meaningful work so that they are better prepared for college and life.

While a “virtual” visit is always a great way to check in and find out what’s going on, I encourage you to come see us on Spartan Lane. Join us for one of our traditional open houses, where you will hear from a panel of faculty, alumni, current parents, and students, or schedule an individual tour with Geoffrey Walton or Mary Catherine Jernigan in the Admission Office.  We also invite prospective students in grades 5-11 to spend a morning shadowing a student--it's a great way to see what a typical day is like at Athens Academy.

Our newly-redesigned website should help you to continue learning more about all that we are—and all that we do—here on Spartan Lane, but please do not hesitate to let us know if you have any questions.  Our division directors are happy to answer grade-specific concerns, and you can contact me directly as well at any time.  I hope to see you soon, and thank you again for taking the time to learn a little bit more about our school community.

Go Spartans!
